Born in Palermo in 1965, in 1983 Giovanni Levanti graduated in Architecture at the Università degli Studi di Palermo.
In 1984, he moved to Milan where he obtained a master in Master in Industrial Design at Domus Academy.
From 1985 to 1990 he worked for Andrea Branzi and in 1991 he started his on studio.
He works as a designer for Azzurra, Campeggi, Cassina, Diamantini&Domeniconi, Domodinamica, Edra, Foscarini, In The Room (Jp) Marutomi (Jp), Memphis, Nagano (Jp), Pallucco, Salviati, Serafino Zani, Twergi-Alessi.
Since 1986 his works have been displayed in several international exhibitions and are a permanent part of prestigeous design museum collecitions: Triennale Design Museum, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and Centre Pompidou in Paris.
Lecturer at the Università degli Studi di Palermo, at ISIA (Faenza), NABA (Milan) and project leader at Domus Academy (Milan).
He lives and works in Milan.
